My first job was tutoring Koreans at 14 years old. Then I started doing VTRs taking the bus at Dau Terminal from Pampanga to Quezon Avenue then MRT to Ayala Avenue then walk to my agency at the time in Salcedo Village to do the audition/s for the day. Google maps or Waze wasn't a thing yet so I used a map to figure out where I needed to go. I still remember the directions. Walk straight at Ayala Ave from the MRT station. When you see the blue buildings turn right. That's Salcedo village. My agency was in LP Leviste. Happy Peanuts at 7-11 was a treat going home and finding an ATM of your bank so that you can withdraw P100 extra because other banks charge you for withdrawing was usually a concern. After VTRs, MRT to Cubao, P50 non-aircon and P90 aircon sa Five Star Cubao dati. Solid if you had a good movie on the way home. Baba sa Dau Terminal take C.Point Holy jeep then the Sapangbato jeep to gym and workout at AC-1 gym owned by three buff foreigners then teach my Korean students English before ending the night. I got my first break on TV at Studio 23 for Wazzup Wazzup. This photo here was for Cinema News Alert Weekend Edition. I failed so many times. It's been almost 20 years since then. I never thought that I would own a house. Let alone getting to marry the love of my life which is what I'm most proud of considering the issues I had. I was bullied heavily in school and by former colleagues as well as co-workers through the years. I was betrayed and hurt many many times. I was always hitting the ground running and just kept going; not taking the time to look at the pain and sadness I was feeling deep down. Sometimes... especially in this now world of social media, it's so easy to just keep going and compare yourself to everyone. Especially with our demons and issues taking over on bad days. But my journey is my journey. Yours is yours. All our victories are worth celebrating regardless where we are in life. I'm saying this coming from someone who's always looking to conquer the next mountain for reasons I'm only realizing these past few years. We forget how far we've come. We forget to be grateful. We forget that the younger versions of us dreamed of the life we have now. We forget to celebrate the things we got right. If you've come from struggles only you would know and have the life you wished for. Do not compare them to others and take that victory away from yourself. No matter how small or big our victories are, celebrate them. That victory is uniquely yours. You're here now. You've come a long way. ❤️
