Getting to travel with Waffles is a privilege I will always be thankful for. I love planning my vacations around him. I am not one to take your dog somewhere and then leave them in the hotel room, if he can't come with me then I'm not doing it. That also makes planning your trips and picking hotels particularily important. Are there patios they can join you on to eat? Or do they have room service. Better yet, how dog friendly is the destination. This was Huntington Beach in 2023. I loved watching Waffles run along the beach, one of the best off leash beaches we have ever been to.   We are looking for suggestions of places to travel to in the fall, thinking Canada (outside of our province, we live in Calgary) or maybe trying for Europe. Waffles was so excited to show off all his Yacht Rock outfits he packed for his trip to Orlando! The little diva had multiple outfit changes over the 5 days!! And the sandals ❤️  And how is it that he is sitting by the pool you ask. Well the best part is this hotel, the Meliá Celebration in Orlando, allows well behaved dogs by the pool. To be clear it's BY the pool not IN the pool, but that was absolutely one of the deciding factors for us staying there. That way, I could get in some pool time without having to leave Waffles in the hotel room! In fact, the entire hotel is dog, friendly, including the restaurant which has a big patio where they can join you for meals.
