Guess who finally saw the Minecraft movie? Also my lava chicken just might be as good as Steve’s.😋 Lava Chicken Marinade: 2 tsp (8g) - Garlic Powder 1 tsp (4g) - Paprika 1/2 tsp (2g) - Ground Cumin 1 tsp (2g) - Dried Chilli Flakes 1/4 Cup (60ml) - @nandosusa Peri Peri Sauce Salt & Pepper to taste I doubled this and was able marinade a family pack of chicken breast tenderloins. I pan seared them and honestly it was freaking delicious. #recipes #Minecraft #chicken
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been a game changer in helping me heal. While I originally started going to help with some challenges in would healing caused by my autoimmune issues, I keep going because it has helped stabilize my inflammation and significantly decreased my fatigue. I am also sleeping better and healing faster from flare ups. One thing to note is there are a lot of “treatment centers” that are not medical grade. Because of this they aren’t held to the same standards, they often use cheaper soft shell machines and it is not the same experience. One is a medical treatment with set protocols that requires a prescription and is run in a facility manager by a doctor, the other is a health spa offering that is playing off a trend. Like any treatment, talk to your doctor first to see if this makes sense for you and your treatment plan. #hyperbaricoxygentherapy #hbot #surgeryrecovery
#ad One of my favorite @Starbucks drinks is back, so you know I had to make it into a whole outfit! Did you guess correctly what I was inspired by? #StarbucksAmbassador
The best fitness goals are the silly ones. Mark my words, but the end of this year I will be able to do the worm. Let me know is you want a weekly worm progress report after my next surgery (once I’m cleared to do exercise). Also, if anyone actually knows how to do the worm and has some tips, please don’t be shy sharing them. I have literally no clue what I’m doing. 🐛💕
Now that my surgeries are over- it’s time to live big! Early in my surgery process I started a list of things I wanted to do post surgery. Here’s a some of the ideas I have, but I’d love to know what you think I should add to the list! It’s doesn’t have to be physical, I want to push myself to have all sorts of new adventures. -make it to the top of Koko Head -take belly dancing classes -kayak -take an international solo trip -run a 10k at Disney -visit every national park -sew my own outfit -go camping -try Pilates -take a cooking class -learn to line dance -learn to surf -try aerial acrobat class -rock climbing
It’s not a Glitter and Lazers surgery if I don’t sing in the ER. This one is in honor of Dr. Amron, who loves his classic rock. IYKYK. He still might hate this song- but I tried. I always share content like this because, yes it's fun, but more importantly it shows how comfortable the surgery actually is. So many people are scared and nervous about being awake. I get it. It can sound scary, but @Advanced Lipedema Treatment has mastered this art. You are in constant contact with your anesthesiologist and they make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. I think it's important to highlight how safe I have felt in these procedures, and that safety has really come from earned trust. From my first consultation, to follow ups, surgeries, and more, Dr. Amron and his team have been there for me. #ALTAmbassador #Lipedema #surgery
I've had this jacket in my closet for at least a year, waiting for the day that my arms would catch up with my body, and it took surgery for that to be a reality. This is what many people with my condition face - our bodies just not being proportional. Being plus size is hard enough, let alone having your body not fit even near a typical sizing structure. So to have my upper arms be two sizes larger than the rest of my top has been challenging to say the least when shopping for clothing. I've avoided certain styles or even cut the sleeves of new pieces to make them work. I'm so excited that now, even though I'm in a bigger body, my arms are more proportional. That opens up so many new forms of dressing, and I'm excited to explore them! #positivemindset #plussizefashion #lipedema @Good American @Converse@Old Navy Official @Vera Bradley @Cotopaxi@Windex@Clorox@Dawn Dish
It’s nice to be able to raise my hands in the air like I just don’t care again. After having a brachioplasty as part of my Lipedema removal surgery, not being able to raise my arms above 90 degrees was the worst. Now that these ladies are cleared for action, I plan to spend my days raising the roof, high fiving, shooting my shot and raising my hand to ask all the questions. It’s good to be back. #lipedema #recovery #positivevibes
Day two of my summer outfits inspired my random lipsticks. Perfect for Muffy to wear to the country club with mumsy. #preppyaesthetic #OOTD #grwm @Coach@Quay@Birdies@Rare Beauty @Walmart
This is my first workout I did when I started my health journey around 2 years ago. That workout felt impossible, but I did it anyways. They kept sucking and I kept showing up. Eventually, things got less hard and then it was just fun to see what my body could do. I decided to have Lipedema removal surgery because there came a point where I could not progress further without it. It was a hard and important decision to make. I have one surgery left! It is coming up really soon and I’m excited to keep fighting for that girl who showed up when it seemed impossible. With surgeries finally complete, I’ll finally be able to start chasing all the dreams that led me to have the procedures in the first place. I literally cannot wait. #lipedema #SelfCare #healthjourney
30 summer inspired looks: Day One! I’m bringing a fresh perspective to lipstick inspired makeovers. I’m telling you the stories in my head that inspire the looks. Today’s look reminded me of the cool summer nights I used to have when I lived in London. I chose this perfume because it was the first expensive perfume I ever bought and it smells like old books. They don’t even make it anymore. That’s exactly what this girl would wear, a hard to find perfume that smells like dusty literature. Creating summer outfits based on something random- like a blindly drawn lipstick shade- helps be more creative with my looks and try new things. This year is all about stepping out of my comfort zone; this just makes sense to do. You all have been asking me to bring this series back, and honestly I miss it.
